Remove Background began with a simple need: I wanted to remove backgrounds without uploading my images to external websites. I preferred to keep control of the files and process them on my own computer. In a few minutes, I put together a small tool for that task.

I added a graphical interface so that people without technical experience could use it too. You select a photo, start the background removal, compare the original with the result and download a PNG with a transparent background. The workflow stays focused on that one task.

The interface is built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and talks to a local Flask server. Python handles the image through Pillow and the open-source rembg library, then returns the result as a PNG. In my use, the cutouts generally work well: a quick experiment that turned an existing library into a tool I could use directly.
